Build Your Own TRX Straps for Under $30.
Why waste a ton of money when you can make these straps yourself – and for cheap!?
After I gave my home gym a new look, I wanted to add a few new training elements to it now that I have the space. While I do my Body Beast workouts, occasionally, I like to throw in a surprise routine in the mix or at the end of the workout to keep my muscles guessing. Today, I installed TRX straps. Now I didnt buy a TRX training system, I simply went to a hardware store (Home Depot) and created my own. This was extremely simple to do, installed in only minutes and saved me like $200! Now here is how you can do the same!
See how to make YOUR OWN TRX SYSTEM for under $30 below!
Here is what you will need to buy for your own TRX system:
- (2) Ratchet Straps – mine are 8 feet long with a load of 300lbs. (Home Depot – $10)
- (4) Clips to put on the ends – mine are 280lb load clips. (Home Depot – $5)
- (2) Foam handles – to give you a sturdy, comfortable grip. (Walmart – $8)
- *Optional clamp to secure it to your basement beam like I had to do. (Home Depot – $5)
- All these supplies cost me less than $30 to complete! Took me 10 minutes to install!
Here are some simple steps to help you set up your TRX straps:
- Set up your ratchet straps even length.
- Place clips on all four ends of the straps.
- Secure foam handles on one end of each strap.
- Secure the other end, using the metal clip, to your basement beam.
- Give a few tugs to make sure the ratchets are locked.
- GIVE IT A GO! Pushups, flies, back rows, dips, etc!
